Sturgis, Mich.-based Sturgis Bank appointed John Novak to its Board of Directors and the board of its holding company, Sturgis Bancorp..Novak joined the newly formed Kalamazoo County Community Board of Sturgis Bank in 2024 and is credited with playing a role in supporting the bank’s growing presence in the greater Kalamazoo market. CEO Jason Hyska said Novak has helped the bank better serve business and retail customers in the area.Novak has more than 25 years of experience practicing business and real estate law in Michigan and Illinois. He is the managing member of Novak Law Group, co-president and co-owner of Gardner Management Company, and an investor in several local businesses. He is also active in the community and has served on multiple nonprofit and forprofit boards.“John is a proven leader who is highly regarded in the greater Kalamazoo area,” Hyska said. “He will bring valuable perspective to our corporate boards.”
