St. Cloud, Minn.-based Stearns Bank hired Tam Nguyen as CFO and Vicky Arroyo as chief lending officer..Nguyen has 25 years of experience in finance, 13 of which have been in banking. A CPA, she was previously CFO for Riverside, Calif.-based Provident Financial Holdings, Inc. She has a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of California, San Diego, and an MBA from California State University, San Marcos. Stearns Bank President Heather Plumski said Nguyen’s “deep experience in strategy, finance and capital management will be invaluable as we enter our next era of growth and continue to execute against our strategic three-year growth plans.” Arroyo has more than 30 years of experience in banking and financial services, most recently as director of economic equity at BMO. Arroyo has a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from DePaul University, Chicago, and completed the managerial leadership stream program at BMO’s Institute for Learning. “Vicky brings impressive skills and diverse experiences to the organization at a crucial time — when Stearns Bank is helping our thousands of customers navigate the uncertain domestic economic landscape,” Plumski said. With Arroyo’s hire, Al Doering, previously chief lending and mergers & acquisitions manager, will transition to being a full-time chief M&A officer.
