Carmel, Ind.-based Merchants Capital added April Moreland as senior vice president, government-sponsored enterprise chief underwriter. .Moreland, who is based in the company’s Washington, D.C., office., was previously director of specialty products at Citibank Community Capital, New York City. A banker with 15 years of GSE and affordable housing underwriting experience, she spent six years at Washington, D.C.-based Freddie Mac. She has a Bachelor of Science in finance from the University of Illinois-Chicago and a Master of Professional Studies in real estate from Georgetown University, Washington, D.C. “April has established a legacy of driving growth, client engagement and risk management in commercial real estate and community banking,” said Executive Vice President of Credit and Operations Naureen Dhanani.
