Matthew Maher was named president of Converse, Ind.-based First Farmers Bank & Trust, effective Jan. 1, 2027..Maher is executive vice president and Hamilton County regional president of the bank. He will succeed Mark “Doc” Holt as president of First Farmers Bank & Trust. Maher was also named a director of both the bank and its holding company First Farmers Financial Corp. Holt will remain CEO of First Farmers Bank & Trust and a director of both the bank and $3.5 billion financial holding company. The company said additional details about the leadership transition and succession schedule will be announced later.
