Indiana’s 1st Source Bank promotes two executives

South Bend, Ind.-based 1st Source Bank promoted John Bedient to chief operating officer and executive vice president and Dan Lifferth to chief administrative officer and senior vice president. .According to the bank, the promotions are part of a leadership succession and organizational realignment following recent executive transitions at the bank and its parent company, 1st Source Corporation.Bedient will oversee information technology, Salesforce and the enterprise project management office in addition to his current operational responsibilities. He joined the bank in 1991 and is credited with playing a major role in upgrading core systems, developing digital banking platforms and implementing real-time payment systems.Lifferth will continue leading HR while also assuming more oversight of branch administration, community development and administrative services. He has been SVP of human resources for a decade and is credited with helping advance leadership development, employee engagement and organizational modernization initiatives.The promotions followed the company’s leadership changes that took effect Oct. 1, when Christopher Murray became executive chair; Andrea Short was appointed CEO and president of the corporation and CEO of the bank; and Kevin Murphy was promoted to bank president. “These promotions reflect our commitment to aligning leadership responsibilities for long-term success,” Short said. “John’s strategic vision and Dan’s deep operational and people leadership experience position them well to support our continued growth and operational excellence.”
