ICBND hires new president

The Independent Community Banks of North Dakota have hired Barry D. Haugen as their new president. Haugen's first day on the job will be Oct. 20..Haugen will take over for John Brown who announced his retirement earlier this year but stayed on until his replacement could be found. "We look forward to the contributions Barry will make to ICBND and welcome him to the team," Brown said. .Haugen has an extensive background in executive management and financial services including legislative experience, business development, operations and acquisitions. He joins ICBND from Trisun Energy Services, Bismarck, N.D., where he has been the vice president of business development since December 2013. Haugen led the pipeline and energy services segment of WBI Energy, Bismarck, and its 350 plus employees as the corporation's executive vice president and chief operating officer from 2002 to 2013. His responsibilities included operations, regulatory affairs, business development and market services..In addition to his experience in energy, Haugen also served as a commercial loan officer at American Bank Center, Bismarck, from 1991 through 1994. He has a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from Minnesota State University, Moorhead, Minn., and an MBA from the University of North Dakota, Grand Forks, N.D..Haugen and his wife Stacey have been married for 25 years and have three daughters. Shaynn is 24 and lives in Bismarck. Erin, who is 22, and Alek, who is 20, are both attending UND.
