Lincoln, Neb.-based consultant Haberfeld promoted Sean Payant to president and announced the transition of former Achim Griesel to president emeritus. .The changes were part of the company’s long-term succession plan. Payant’s career at Haberfeld started as a consultant in 2007, most recently as chief strategy officer and senior executive vice president. He is a faculty member of both the Pacific Coast Banking School in Seattle and the American Bankers Association Stonier Graduate School of Banking in Philadelphia. Haberfeld CEO Ben O’Neill said Payant “has established himself as a nationally recognized expert in community banking. His appointment as president signals an exciting new chapter for the firm, and we are confident in the strength of leadership and depth of expertise he brings to the role.” Griesel has worked at Haberfeld since 2001, when he started as an account executive. He held multiple leadership positions before being named president in 2016.
