St. Peter-based First National Bank Minnesota promoted Eric Peters to president..Peters is the 12th president in the community bank’s 169-year history. He is responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations across the bank’s four locations in south-central Minnesota in St. Peter, Mankato, Gaylord and Belle Plaine.Former president Mike Bresnahan will continue as CEO, focusing on the bank’s direction and the success of its holding company, Bancommunity Service Corporation, while helping with the leadership transition.Bresnahan said Peters’ promotion reflects his long career as a leader and customer-focused approach. Peters spent a dozen years with First National Bank Minnesota, building experience across multiple areas of the organization.Peters began his banking career as a teller and advanced through retail banking before moving into business banking, lending and management. He has a bachelor’s degree in economics from Minnesota State University, Mankato and graduated from the Graduate School of Banking in Madison, Wisconsin.
