Mattoon, Ill.-based First Mid Bank & Trust appointed Regina Nelson chief marketing officer and appointed Alex Melvin to its board of directors. .Nelson has more than 30 years of marketing and leadership experience in the financial services industry to the $7.8 billion community-focused organization, most recently as vice president and director of consumer marketing strategy at St. Louis, Mo.-based Commerce Bank.As chief marketing officer, Nelson will oversee First Mid’s marketing and brand strategy, customer insights and communications to grow the bank’s presence across its markets and support continued growth through innovative marketing efforts.Joe Dively, chair and chief executive officer of First Mid, said Nelson’s experience and strategic vision will advance the company’s brand and deepen connections with customers across multiple channels.Melvin will also serve on the board of First Mid Bank & Trust, the company’s primary banking subsidiary.
