Champaign, Ill.-based First Busey Corporation appointed Chris Chan as CFO..A seasoned financial executive, Chan has experience in corporate strategy, digital transformation and investor relations. Chan was most recently executive vice president and chief strategy officer at First National Bank, the largest subsidiary of Pittsburgh-based F.N.B. Corporation. His career also includes roles as director of corporate strategy at FNB, portfolio manager at Chicago-based investment management firm Balyasny Asset Management and investment analyst at financial services firm Citadel Global Equities.First Busey Corporation Chair and CEO Van Dukeman called Chan “a natural fit within the Busey culture, possessing the finance acumen, deep industry expertise and drive for results necessary for our growing organization. Chris’ combination of knowledge, analytical and relationship skills and passion will allow him to build strong, collaborative partnerships and provide clear direction at Busey.” A 2007 Dartmouth graduate, Chan’s career started at Morgan Stanley in New York as an analyst with its Financial Institutions Group.Chan’s appointment follows Busey’s recent merger with Leawood, Kan.-based CrossFirst Bank. The deal, completed in June, expanded the company’s footprint to nearly 80 branches across 10 states and increased total assets to more than $19 billion.
