Federal Home Loan Bank of Des Moines President and CEO Kristina K. Williams will retire this year after more than six years in her position. .Williams has served as CEO since January 2020, and is credited with overseeing operational improvements and strong financial performance for the cooperative bank.“I have had the privilege of working alongside an exceptional team whose integrity, resilience and commitment to our members and their communities define who we are as a Bank,” Williams said. “I am confident the Bank is well positioned for the future.”The FHLB Des Moines Board of Directors has established a search committee and retained an executive search firm to identify its next president and CEO. Williams is expected to remain in her position until her successor is in place. Williams was chief operating officer at the Federal Home Loan Bank of Pittsburgh from 2011-20. Before that, she was CFO of wholesale banking for PNC Financial Services Group, where she worked on regulatory reporting and directed accounting policy. A regular speaker about diversity, equity and inclusion topics, Williams has had several financial advisory assignments on behalf of the FHLBanks. She serves on the boards of the Great Des Moines Partnership and Great Des Moines Habitat for Humanity. “Under Kris’ leadership, the Bank has accomplished much, from improved operations to strong financial performance,” said North Dakota Member Director Karl Bollingberg.Board Chair Karl Bollingberg thanked Williams for her leadership and contributions, citing the bank’s improved operations and solid financial results during her tenure.
