Champaign, Ill.-based First Busey Corp. appointed Michael Peluso general counsel. Peluso succeeds John Powers, who is retiring from the position..Peluso, who has served as Busey’s deputy general counsel since joining the company in 2015, was also named Busey’s corporate secretary and a member of its executive leadership team. He has more than 16 years of financial services legal experience and previously practiced at Sidley Austin in Chicago.Powers will remain with Busey as senior counsel to assist with the transition and certain projects. He joined Busey in 2011 and plans to retire next year after more than 45 years practicing law.David Milton joined First Busey Corp. as executive vice president and regional president for Texas. He will oversee the bank’s Dallas, Fort Worth and Frisco markets, including commercial banking, wealth management, treasury management and payments technology.Milton joins Busey after more than 21 years at Comerica Bank, where he most recently served as Dallas market president and director of middle-market banking. He previously held roles including national director of private banking, North Texas director of business banking and middle-market group manager. He also spent 15 years with Bank of America.
