Ronald L. Slater retired suddenly from Bankers' Bank, Madison, Wis., the bank's board of directors announced. The resignation was effective Feb. 23. Slater was president and CEO of the bank he helped charter nearly 30 years ago.. Thomas Papenthien has been named president and CEO of the bank effective immediately. Papenthien, formerly executive vice president and chief financial officer, has been with Bankers' Bank since 1992.. Papenthien has a master of business administration degree from Washington University, St. Louis, as well as professional certification as a Chartered Financial Analyst. He has served on the board of directors for Bankers' Bancorporation and Bankers' Bank for more than 10 years.. Slater was executive vice president of Bankers' Bank prior to becoming president in 2000 and president/CEO in 2007. Slater recently completed a term as chairman of the Wisconsin Bankers Association.. Bankers' Bank is a $497 million wholesale bank serving community banks in Wisconsin, Illinois, Iowa, Indiana and elsewhere. . Maria A. Huna has been promoted to assistant vice president – finance at Northeast Bank, Minneapolis. Huna started as a teller and has worked in the bookkeeping department, where she was a supervisor. She also worked in the operations/accounting department. She has held a variety of positions including finance planning administrator, financial analyst and finance officer. . Zach J. Neuman has been promoted to credit department manager and officer at Northeast Bank. Neumann joined Northeast Bank last year with six years of community banking experience. Neumann is currently in charge of managing the loan operations department, in addition to his credit analyst responsibilities.
