July 21, 2025 marked the 15th anniversary of the landmark Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act of 2010. Implemented following the 2007-08 subprime mortgage crisis, the bill was promoted as protecting the financial system against misconduct by the largest banks through raising capital standards and tightening mortgage lending standards.
