Iowa’s First National Bank merges into sister charter

Creston, Iowa-based First National Bank merged into its sister charter, Spencer, Iowa-based Northwest Bank. .Both institutions share the same holding company and ownership, Northwest Financial Corp. owners Dwight and Neal Conover. The consolidation increases the footprint of $2.6 billion Northwest Bank to 22 locations in northwest, central and southwest Iowa and Omaha. Iowa bank locations in Afton, Creston and Shenandoah will be managed by the same leadership. .The merger provides former First National Bank customers with more products and features and offers employees additional career opportunities, according to Northwest Bank. ."This merger benefits our customers, bankers and communities," said Dwight Conover. "We determined that we can best serve our customers and communities as one bank.
