Iowa conditions sound; reg burden concerns bankers

Iowa banks — which generally didn't suffer the earnings trouble that banks in other parts of the country did during the last four years — are getting stronger, Superintendent of Banking James Schipper told 270 people gathered in downtown Des Moines April 26. The top concern for most of the state's bankers, he said, is growing regulatory burden.
