Gate City Bank to donate $100,000 to West Fargo Eats

Fargo, N.D.-based Gate City Bank recently committed $100,000 to West Fargo Eats, a local nonprofit that serves people who are experiencing food insecurity. The nonprofit, once a pop-up food pantry, became a permanent hunger relief program in 2021 in West Fargo, N.D. .According to Gate City Bank, the gift is crucial to expand West Fargo Eats' programs, feeding more people in need and increasing sustainability for the future of the community. Gate City Bank has reportedly contributed more than $220,000 to West Fargo Eats since 2021. .The $3.4 billion Gate City Bank also launched a food drive involving all of its branches in North Dakota and central Minnesota. The effort is expected to amass non-perishable food items leading up to Giving Hearts Day on Feb. 8, before the bank delivers the items to food-related nonprofits that help the communities the bank also serves. The bank has also pledged an additional $50,000 through its annual Giving Hearts Day nomination contest through which community members nominate their favorite charities. ."When individuals and families experience unexpected food insecurity, they're faced with impossible financial choices," said Amy Durbin, Gate City Bank executive vice president of data strategies and marketing. "Through our support of West Fargo Eats and other food-associated charities throughout our communities, we're giving families the help they need today for a better tomorrow. No one should have to go hungry, which is why we care about addressing this issue head-on."
