First National combines charters

First National of Nebraska is filing an application with the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency to combine its Nebraska and South Dakota banking affiliates into one charter..The move will affect five Nebraska institutions and one in South Dakota. They are: First National Bank of Omaha, Neb.; First National Bank of Columbus, Neb.; First National Bank North Platte, Neb.; Fremont National Bank & Trust Company, Fremont, Neb.; Platte Valley State Bank, Kearney, Neb; and First National Bank South Dakota, Yankton, S.D.."This change is about investing more in our local communities," Dan O'Neill, First National's president, said in a press release. "Accordingly, customers will still be served by the same employees they have come to know and trust over the years, lending decisions will still be made locally and current leadership and advisory boards will remain involved.".Omaha, Neb.-based First National has $17 billion in assets and primary offices in Nebraska, Colorado, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, South Dakota and Texas.
