Fond du Lac, Wis.-based National Exchange Bank & Trust awarded a half-dozen scholarships this year to graduating high school students..The students, who are children of employees, were also named based on their financial need, academic achievement, involvement in school activities, work experience, community and volunteer involvement and a personal statement. Renewable awards are possible for $4,000 per year for a baccalaureate degree and $3,000 per year for a technical college degree. Recipients included:Cora Barthels of Oshkosh, Wis. She plans to attend Fox Valley Technical College to study small business entrepreneurship. Ella Hensen of Fond du Lac, Wis. She plans to attend the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee to pursue a degree in art and design. Frederick Hertneky of Dousman, Wis. She plans to study engineering at the University of Wisconsin-Platteville. Larkin Michels of Markesan, Wis. She is entering her second year at Fox Valley Technical College studying dental hygiene. Avery Rieckmann of Portage, Wis., who is entering her second year at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater studying psychology and chemistry. Julia Waisbrot of Westfield, Wis. She plans to attend Madison Area Technical College to major in interior design.
