Port Washington State Bank of Port Washington, Wis., raised $2,200 for local K-9 units through a paper shredding event..The event, at its Grafton, Wis., branch, allowed community members to securely dispose of confidential documents while donating to a nonprofit that provides K-9s to the Grafton Police Department. The event raised more than $1,100, which the bank matched in support of the Grafton K-9 Foundation.Port Washington State Bank committed $65,000 earlier this month toward a new pavilion near the splash zone that carries the bank’s name at Marie Kraus Park in Fredonia, Wis. Also earlier this month, the bank matched a $5,000 grant from the Wisconsin Bankers Association to launch a new “Getting Ahead” financial literacy program in partnership with St. Vincent de Paul of Ozaukee County. The program “provides participants with practical skills, confidence, and a roadmap toward a more secure financial future.”
