Sunflower Bank expands Community Partner Awards Program

Dallas-based Sunflower Bank is hosting its Community Partner Awards again this year, continuing the grant program's mission to support nonprofit organizations across its service areas. .The initiative, now in its third year, is expanding in scope and impact, with $90,000 in total grant funding available — an increase from previous years — and 22 awards to be distributed to organizations that strengthen local communities.Through Aug. 22, residents in eligible counties across Arizona, California, Colorado, Kansas, New Mexico, Texas, and Washington can nominate nonprofits. Nominations are open to both Sunflower Bank employees and the broader public.Sunflower Bank will select award recipients based on their dedication to improving local communities and alignment with Sunflower Bank’s core focus areas of affordable housing, economic development, financial education and community services. Additional consideration will be given to organizations working to build more inclusive and equitable communities. Individual grant awards will range from $2,000 to $15,000, and winners will be recognized during local check presentation events later in the year.“The Community Partner Awards are one of the most impactful ways we honor and elevate the organizations that are making a difference where we live and work,” said Sunflower Bank CRA Program Director Pamela Gorder. “Entering our third year, we’re excited to continue partnering with community-leading organizations that drive meaningful change.”In 2024, Sunflower Bank contributed more than $500,000 to nonprofit organizations last year and logged thousands of employee volunteer hours.
