American Bank & Trust, Sioux Falls, donated $62,861 to local schools this year through its Spirit Card Program. .Customers that use a Spirit Card have a portion of each purchase donated to the school featured on the card. This year’s donations bring the total amount given to more than $390,000 since the program launched in 2012. This year’s donations included:More than $8,600 to the Miller Rustlers for bussing elementary field trips. Nearly $8,000 to the Huron Tigers to fill budget shortfalls in the classrooms and student-centered programs. Nearly $6,200 to the Wessington Springs Spartans to support the school’s general fund.More than $5,900 to the Pierre Governors for educational needs. More than $5,800 to the De Smet Bulldogs for new books and organizers in the K-12 library.Nearly $4,200 to the Worthington, Minn., Trojans for posters, end-of-season banquets and end-of-year awards. Nearly $3,800 to the Wolsey-Wessington Warbirds for classroom books and supplies.More than $2,600 to the Northwestern Wildcats for a new popcorn machine in the football concession stand. $2,580 to the Stanley County Buffaloes for scholastic books, bookcases and e-books along with for other uses. More than $1,600 to the Watertown Arrows to support an extra-curricular program helping high school students explore teaching. More than $1,300 to the Corsica-Stickney Jaguars for a new school sign for the school’s elementary building. Nearly $1,300 to the Iroquois-Lake Preston Sharks for a new Gaga ball pit on their playground. $1,000 to the Aberdeen Central Golden Eagles to offset instructional supply purchases.$1,000 to the Aberdeen Christian Knights for the school’s general fund. $1,000 to the Aberdeen Roncalli Cavaliers for a new organ/piano for school Masses and concerts. $1,000 to the Harrisburg Tigers to supplement equipment and supply purchases.$1,000 to the Howard Tigers for the district’s school lunch program. $1,000 to the James Valley Christian Vikings to help with the general cost and upkeep of the school. $1,000 to the Lennox Orioles for athletic equipment and uniforms, including pink uniforms for cancer awareness. $1,000 to the Lisbon Broncos for a program providing weekend meals to students in need.$1,000 to the O’Gorman Knights for end-of-the-year summer projects. $1,000 to the Sully-Buttes Chargers for classroom supplies. $1,000 to the Tea Area Titans for general facility upgrades.
