Glencoe, Minn.-based Security Bank & Trust Co. announced a five-year, $1-million commitment to a major regional healthcare initiative..The $1 million gift, supporting Glencoe Regional Health’s Center for Healing, is a leading contribution toward the anticipated $20 million price tag. Glencoe Regional Health Foundation said it’s the largest gift it has received from a business in its history.Construction on the center is already underway and will include significant updates to operating rooms, expanded capacity for an award-winning woundcare center, new procedure rooms and upgraded facilities for medical imaging.“The investment directly impacts our customers and allows them to stay local for care and for healing,” said Security Bank & Trust Co. CEO Gale Hoese. “The deposits our neighbors keep with us are what built this addition, and to me that is how a local bank is supposed to work.”The health-center gift is part of the bank’s Local Return Initiative, which was created last year to formalize community giving for the 21-branch, fourth-generation family-led bank. Glencoe Bank & Trust Co. operates in 18 Minnesota communities and has about $1.3 billion in assets.
