MidCountry Bank donates $100,000 for veteran’s home

Minnesota-based MidCountry Bank donated $100,000 to construct a new home for a veteran in Glencoe, Minn..Over the past few months, the bank has worked with the Crow Wing chapter for Habitat for Humanity on the build. Plans for the project started last year, when MidCountry donated $50,000 to assist with construction costs and pledged to match an additional $50,000 raised by donors to increase community engagement. That goal was met last month. On March 21, Crow River Habitat for Humanity and MidCountry Bank members were presented with the check. The build is expected to be finished within the next couple of weeks. . "It was very awe-inspiring to see the community come together to support a veteran in building their forever home," said Payton Eastman, an ag lender at the bank. "It was especially inspirational to have such a positive community involvement during such a trying time." .Over the past several years, MidCountry has helped to build houses for veterans in St. Cloud and Minneapolis. "It's so exciting to be a part of a project that has so much community support for a well-deserving individual," added Nicole Grove, bank branch manager of Glencoe and Hutchinson, Minn., locations. "The money that was donated throughout the community and the volunteer support on the project solidifies how important programs like these are to the people of our county."
