Indiana’s First Bank of Berne donates $5K to three nonprofits

First Bank of Berne, Ind., donated $5,000 to three nonprofits last month..$3,000 to Alive & Well, a Bluffton, Ind.-based nonprofit that helps young people make healthy choices. The donation is to sponsor classes at local schools. $1,000 to Southern Wells (Ind.) Community Schools. First Bank of Berne is a title partner for district athletic programs. The funds help purchase uniforms, cover travel expenses and pay entry fees. $1,000 to Brok'n Axoles Car Club. The club started a 501(c)(3) charity three years ago to support children using the group's passion for antique cars. The nonprofit hosts car shows to raise money for its annual event, "Cruisin' 4 Kids", on the first Saturday of December each year.
