First Bank of Berne in Indiana recently donated more than $10,000 to four local organizations..$4,000 to Feed My Starving Children MobilePack to deepen local community involvement and provide meals for children. The bank also partnered with the South Adams FFA Community Food Drive by pledging $1 for every can donated. Feed My Starving Children provides meal formulas to meet the needs of undernourished people worldwide. $3,000 to Alive & Well. The nonprofit provides interactive programs to engage teenagers while building awareness and connecting them with sources of help. “This donation will help Alive & Well continue delivering impactful programming while also supporting essential behind-the-scenes efforts such as curriculum development, website maintenance, evaluation programs and operational costs,” according to the bank. $2,000 to the North Miami FFA Dairy Team to prepare the team for international competition. After placing second at both the area and state FFA contests, North Miami FFA Dairy Team represented Indiana at the National FFA Convention, competing in the Dairy Cattle Evaluation and Management competition and named Reserve National Champions. The team will compete in an international judging contest this summer at the Royal Highland Show in Edinburgh, Scotland. $1,200 to the Creative Arts Council of Wells County for arts education. The nonprofit encourages and develops appreciation for the arts through presentation and education, providing chances for dance, music, theatre and fine arts.
