Gate City Bank’s Giving Hearts Day raised $230,000 across more than 350 charities this year. .The Fargo-based bank donated $25,000 to Heart N Soul Community Cafe, which provides fresh, locally-grown food to residents of the Fargo-Moorhead community. The restaurant uses a “pay what you can” model. Heart N Soul expects to provide 2,000 meals at their mobile cafe to struggling community members. Gate City Bank donated more than $100,000 to organizations through sponsorships and pledges connected to Giving Hearts Day. Team members matched more than $40,000 as of Feb. 10 and gave nearly $30,000 to more than 200 charities through its charity gift program. The bank also contributed $20,000 in regional gifts allowing each branch to choose where to donate funds, and gave $10,000 as part of Dakota Medical Foundation’s Golden Ticket selections. Over the past year, customers who closed on a home with Gate City Bank chose a charity to receive $50 from the bank, which is given during Giving Hearts Day season. The program has donated $114,000 to local charities since 2022. Since 2014, Gate City Bank has donated $2.4 million and supported more than 350 charities through Giving Hearts Day. “This really reflects the heart of our communities,” said Gate City Bank Senior Vice President of Culture Amanda Torok. “People want to help, and we love giving people a simple yet impactful way to support the causes that matter most to them.”
