Charles City, Iowa-based First Security Bank & Trust recently donated a total of $5,000 to two public safety initiatives. .Last year, the bank donated $2,500 to the Rockwall-Swaledale Emergency Medical Team’s to purchase a dozen new manikins. The department’s previous manikins were reportedly more than 10 years old and no longer meeting certification standards.Earlier this year, the bank also donated $2,500 to the Rockwell Community Fire Service Association to acquire LED fire engine scene lights. “We utilize a combination of handheld flashlights, portable lights, and apparatus mounted scene lights, but by far the most effective tool we have are the high intensity LED lights,” said EMS Director/Assistant Fire Chief Adam Wedmore. “Because of the donations to our project, we now have four LED scene lights, and our trucks are outfitted to meet our needs for many years to come.”
