First Interstate Bank and Federal Home Loan Bank of Des Moines will provide $700,000 to nearly three-dozen nonprofits in South Dakota.
Of the total, $200,000 is from Billings, Mont.-based First Interstate, which is matched up to three times through the Member Impact Fund of FHLB Des Moines. Funds assist programs addressing youth development, food security, housing stability, workforce readiness, transportation access and other local needs.
“Partnering with FHLB Des Moines allows us to amplify our giving so more South Dakota nonprofits can move their work forward,” said Jay Mitchell, eastern South Dakota state president for First Interstate Bank.
The Member Impact Fund was launched in 2023. FHLB Des Moines awarded nearly $13 million in awards to members in its latest funding round.
