Bremer Bank donates to three nonprofits

St. Paul, Minn.-based Bremer Bank announced three $10,000 donations to local nonprofits as part of its 80th anniversary. .The bank has donated a total of $80,000 to nonprofit organizations across the Upper Midwest to mark the anniversary. The donations were distributed as eight individual, $10,000 gifts to nonprofits located in communities across Minnesota, western Wisconsin and North Dakota. .The most recently announced donations included:.Wisconsin nonprofit Eau Claire Area Hmong Mutual Assistance Association. The group provides culturally relevant services and resources to meet the needs of the community, including advocacy work for crime victims, mental health and other services. Bremer's donation is intended to support the nonprofit's community support events, staff development and culture preservation while filling gaps in program needs. ."Wisconsin has been an important, longstanding part of our eight-decade story," said Bremer Bank President and CEO Jeanne Crain. "Eau Claire Area Hmong Mutual Assistance Association does critical work in this community, and we are honored for the opportunity to support them through this donation.".St. Cloud, Minn.-based nonprofit Anna Marie's Alliance. The group provides women who are experiencing domestic abuse and their children with a safe place to stay through education, intervention and advocacy to those impacted by relationship abuse. Bremer's donation is expected to support relationship abuse prevention and education, helping raise awareness about related issues across central Minnesota. Family Promise Rochester, Minn. The group has assisted families experiencing homelessness for 24 years. The facility owns a shelter that can support up to three families at a time, where they receive case management, education programming and meals. ."Since COVID-19, our waitlist for families who need shelter has continued to grow," said Executive Director Erin Sinnwell. "Right now, we are at an all-time high with 35 families on our waitlist. In spring of 2024, we are moving to a new space that will be able to provide additional shelter for eight-12 families. We are very grateful for Bremer's recognition of our work in the community. Their donation will go a long way in moving to a new space and being able to help more families."
