Boosting community health in more than one way

One factor in keeping a bank community-minded is if the recipient of their services is a local business or in the case of TruCommunity Bank, a health center..In 2022, Northland Health Centers, a nonprofit health care organization serving rural communities in North Dakota, applied for and was awarded a capital grant.."The original plan was to renovate their current administration building to encompass medical, dental, and behavioral health staff," said Kristen Wagner, a loan officer with Garrison-based TruCommunity. "But they found that after partnering with TruCommunity, they were able to make their dreams of a new building come true.".In addition to financing the project, TruCommunity donated tables and chairs for the community room. The community room will host diabetic, nutrition, fitness classes and more, expanding the areas of care beyond that of traditional medicine..After a little over a year of construction, Northland Health Center now has administration, medical, dental, and behavioral health services all under one roof.."We really strive for community involvement, so we were more than excited to be a part of a new clinic for Turtle Lake," Wagner said. "It is always great to see how we can make a difference, no matter how big or small a project is."
