Spirit Lake, Iowa-based Bank Midwest Community Fund donated $45,000 to two local nonprofits..One donation was for $25,000 to the Windom, Minn., Area Foundation to construct a new childcare facility that will be operated by Windom Area Schools. “The project addresses a critical and immediate need for additional childcare capacity in Cottonwood County, where a shortage of available childcare slots have created challenges for working families, employers and the broader community,” according to the $1.3 billion Bank Midwest.The other donation was $20,000 to the Sioux Falls Family YMCA to support construction of a new treehouse at Camp Leif Ericson. The camp provides opportunities for outdoor recreation, education and personal development.
