Spirit Lake, Iowa-based Bank Midwest awarded $100,000 in grants to eight organizations in Minnesota, Iowa and South Dakota..Projects include a new inclusive playground in Spirit Lake, a community pool renovation in Westbrook, Iowa, a veteran memorial wall in Wall Lake, S.D., and upgrades to youth sports facilities in Westbrook, New Ulm and Windom, Minn.; along with Sioux Falls, S.D.The grants, distributed through the bank’s Community Fund, support initiatives in arts, recreation, youth programs and community betterment. “These gifts are so much more than financial support — they are an investment in our community’s future and represent our heartfelt belief in the people and places we call home,” said Bank Midwest President and CEO Mary Kay Bates.
