AbbyBank Foundation awards $11K in grants to local groups

Abbotsford, Wis.-based The AbbyBank Foundation awarded $11,650 in grants to five local organizations, supporting initiatives in youth development, education, community arts, and local services..The Performing Arts Foundation was awarded $5,000 to help renovate the historic Grand Theater as it celebrates its 100th anniversary.The Everest Area Optimists Club received $2,500 to purchase new deep fryers and a commercial refrigerator to support fundraising for youth scholarships and local programs.$2,500 to Appleton, Wis.-based COTS Inc. to install a dedicated e-bike charging station in the organization’s transitional shelter program. The Samoset Council, Boy Scouts of America received $1,000 to buy kayaks and lifejackets for its Kayaking Merit Badge programSt. Peter Lutheran School received $650 for an audiobook player, audiobooks and shelving to improve literacy programs.Established in 1986, the AbbyBank Foundation is the charitable arm of AbbyBank, which has contributed more than $1.8 million to the foundation. The foundation has donated over $1.4 million to organizations across central Wisconsin, including in Abbotsford, Appleton, Medford, Shawano, Wausau and Weston.
