U.S. industrial production edges up in June

U.S. industrial production rose 0.1 percent in June amid growth in mining output and utilities, increasing at a 4.0 percent annual rate in the second quarter, according to the Federal Reserve. Total industrial production was 1.1 percent higher than a year earlier, while capacity utilization held steady at 76.1 percent, 3.3 percentage points below its long-run average.
