Paulson Capital Holding Company acquires community bank investment firm

Portland, Ore.-based investment bank Paulson Capital Holding Company is expanding in the community banking sector by acquiring investment bank and broker-dealer JWTT..JWTT, which specializes in the community banking sector, manages more than $470 million in customer assets. Following the acquisition, JWTT will operate as a subsidiary of Paulson, and continue its focus on analyzing, investing in and trading community bank securities while accessing Paulson’s broader resources and capital markets expertise.Paulson Capital Holding Company has subsidiaries in investment banking, wealth management and insurance. Its investment banking arm, Paulson Investment Company, has participated in more than 175 public and private offerings, raising about $1 billion in financings since 2014.JWTT CEO Joey Warmenhoven said joining Paulson will help his firm expand its scale and reach. “We’ve built one of the most active market-making platforms in community banking, and partnering with Paulson will allow us to better serve clients with greater technology and resources,” he said.Paulson Capital Holdings Company CEO Trent Davis called the acquisition “a fantastic opportunity to support our growth strategy through both acquisitions and organic expansion.”
