The Tri-County Bank of Stuart is acquiring Butte State Bank. .Both banks are based in the northern part of the state. The $228 million Tri-County Bank has branches in Stuart, Atkinson, O’Neill and Bassett. The $57 million Butte State Bank has branches in Butte and Spencer. “Tri-County Bank’s philosophy, deposit and lending product offerings, and technology will be a nice fit for current and future bank account-holders and borrowers,” said Butte State Bank President Craig Brewster. As part of the acquisition, Butte State Company is selling its insurance agency to The Tri-County Company, while keeping its Butte State Agency name.
