Profinium Financial Holdings Inc. is acquiring F&M Community Bank, expanding the Fairmont-based banking company into southeastern Minnesota..The deal is expected to close in the first quarter of 2027, and will add $211.1 million in assets to the $533.1 million Profinium. The deal will expand Profinium’s footprint beyond Fairmont, Truman, Owatonna and Mankato into agricultural and rural markets in southeastern Minnesota.Profinium Financial Holdings is the holding company for Profinium Bank. As of last month, Profinium had $455 million in deposits and $388 million in net loans and leases. F&M Community Bank had $184 million in deposits and $148 million in net loans and leases along with four branches. F&M has operated in Preston since 1911 and has been owned by the Christianson family since 1968. F&M CEO and Chair Dan Christianson said the family chose Profinium after considering offers from multiple family-owned institutions. “Profinium was the best fit for our staff, customers, and the communities we serve,” Christianson said.Profinium CEO Joel Staehling said the transaction will combine the two banks’ teams while maintaining local decision-making and community-focused banking.Barack Ferrazzano Kirschbaum & Nagelberg LLP advised F&M.
