Iowa banks begin remodeling, expansion projects

Two Iowa banks are starting renovation projects to add space to their offices..Darlys Hulme, president of Farmers Savings Bank & Trust, Vinton, announced the start of a project to add 1,060 square feet of main-floor space to accommodate additional offices, a board room and a restroom.."The addition will honor the architecture and integrity of the existing structure," Hulme said..The groundbreaking, pictured at left, took place Aug. 23. .Bill Hess, president and CEO of Iowa Savings Bank, Carroll, announced a project on his bank to add 1,815 square feet. The addition will give the bank space for offices, storage, and a relocated main entrance.."We've outgrown our current building and needed additional office space," Hess said. "The new addition will expand the lobby and help us gain some office space while reconfiguring the driveup lanes making them more accessible and convenient for our customers." .The project includes converting the facility to geothermal heating..Kirk Gross Company of Waterloo, Iowa, is providing the design and construction services on both projects.
