Bethany Bankshares in Missouri is acquiring Tipton, Mo.-based Latham Bancshares..The transaction is expected to close in the second quarter of next year. Bethany Bankshares is the holding company of $1.5 billion BTC Bank, while Latham Bancshares is the holding company of $190 million Tipton Latham Bank. Bethany is in northern Missouri, while Tipton is three hours south near Columbia. Following the acquisition, BTC Bank will operate 27 branches in Missouri and southern Iowa, along with a mobile branch. “This acquisition strengthens our presence in rural Missouri and reinforces our commitment to the communities we serve,” said BTC Bank President and CEO Doug Fish. “Tipton and Latham share the same values that have guided BTC Bank for more than a century and a commitment to community, youth, and agriculture.”
