Green Bay, Wis.-based Associated Banc-Corp. is moving its Minneapolis office to the 43rd floor of the IDS Center from PwC Plaza. .Construction is expected to start in August, with the move slated for next spring. The space is expected to double its current footprint, and house approximately 100 commercial bankers, commercial real estate bankers and relationship managers.The 57-story IDS Center, at 80 S. Eighth St., is the tallest building in Minnesota. “The IDS Center is an iconic symbol of Minneapolis — you don’t need an address to know where it is,” said Associated Bank Twin Cities Market President Paul Schmidt. “As the city continues to experience a renaissance, we’re proud to invest in its momentum by bringing our team to this prominent downtown location while offering enhanced convenience and accessibility for our clients and colleagues.”Executive Vice President Phillip Trier called Minneapolis “a priority market for us, and we’re excited to play a role in drawing people and energy back into the heart of Minneapolis. This expanded footprint reflects our confidence in the city’s future and our commitment to serving clients with greater convenience and capacity.” The $43 billion Associated Bank also has office space in the western Twin Cities suburb of St. Louis Park and 15 branches in the Greater Twin Cities region. The bank expects to open its newest branch in the IDS Center Crystal Court by October.
