Las Cruces, N.M.-based Amador Bancshares is acquiring BBS Corp., Socorro, N.M..The deal, expected to close in the fourth quarter, will create a $1.4 billion bank. Amador Bancshares is the bank holding company of Citizens Bank, which had $1.17 billion in assets as of March 31. The bank has 137 employees along with nine branches in southern and central New Mexico along with El Paso, Texas. BBS is the holding company of First State Bank, which had $186 million as of the end of March. The bank also has 28 employees and four branches in the state. Citizens Bank President and CEO Travis Hillman will continue in that role in the combined organization.Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. Performance Trust Capital Partners was financial advisor to Amador, while Fenimore Kay Harrison LLP provided legal services. Performance Trust provided a fairness opinion to the company’s board of directors. Olsen Palmer LLC was financial advisor to BBS, while Bradley Arant Boult Cummings LLP was legal advisor.
