Acquisition brings modernized operational systems to community banks

Roughly every five years, the Community Bank of Lena, Ill., has reexamined its relationship with its core provider by looking at available functions, customer service, and cost. The $287 million bank, which operates four branches in the upper left corner of the state, had signed on with Modern Banking Systems in 1987, and that company’s history and customer service gave the Ralston, Neb.-based provider an edge.
