Central Bancshares to Purchase Brimfield Bank

Central Bancshares, Muscatine, Iowa, will buy Brimfield Bank, Brimfield, Ill..Brimfield is midway between Galesburg and Peoria, where F&M Bank already has a total four locations. Acquisition of the $47 million Brimfield bank will bring that total to five. Following completion of the merger, expected early in the third quarter, Brimfield Bank will be merged into Central's $297 million F&M Bank, Galesburg, Ill.."It's a great opportunity for us, and an excellent fit into our organization's geographic footprint," said Greg Kistler, president and CEO of the $788 million Central Bancshares..Central Bancshares also owns the $490 million CBI Bank & Trust, Muscatine..Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
