Associated Bank hires commercial banking leader

Green Bay, Wis.-based Associated Bank appointed Phillip Trier as executive vice president, commercial banking group leader..Trier previously spent 23 years at Minneapolis-based U.S. Bank, where he took on increasing levels of leadership. Most recently, he led commercial banking for U.S. Bank's 11-state Midwest region, including the Twin Cities, Milwaukee and Chicago markets. .The $42 billion Associated Bank recently announced plans for the next phase of its strategic plan that includes investing in people, products and technology to grow and remix its loan portfolio and hasten core customer deposit growth..Trier, who will be based in the Twin Cities market, has a Bachelor of Arts degree from St. John's University, Collegeville, Minn., and graduated from Pacific Coast Banking School. ."We are excited to have Phil join the Associated Bank team as his collaborative style and extensive experience fits perfectly with our culture," said Head of Corporate Banking John Utz.
