John Mahoney was named CFO at Kansas City, Mo.-based nbkc Bank to replace the retiring Eric Garretson.
The transition is effective Aug. 31. Mahoney, senior vice president and director of finance, joined nbkc last September. He has 16 years of experience in accounting, finance and auditing, including senior positions in banking and public accounting.
Garretson, who has spent more than two decades at the bank, has been CFO since 2002. He is expected to join nbkc’s board of directors in January.
nbkc hires chief operations officer
nbkc Bank hired Jana Merfen as COO. Merfen was most recently chief technology officer at Leawood, Kan.-based CrossFirst Bank, which was recently acquired by First Busey Bank in Illinois. Merfen, who will oversee risk management, vendor management, IT and information security, has more than 20 years of professional experience, including 11 in financial services.
