Alerus Financial names two new board members

Grand Forks, N.D.-based Alerus Financial Corp. added Nikki Sorum and John Uribe to its board of directors. .Sorum has four decades of experience as a leader in financial services, including 20 years in leadership positions at Minneapolis-based Thrivent Financial. He was most recently head of sales and distribution at Thrivent Advisors. .Uribe, CFO at Eagan, Minn.-based Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Minnesota, has more than 30 years of financial and strategic leadership experience with expertise in M&A, financial planning and analysis and general management. ."We are honored to welcome these accomplished financial leaders to our board," said CEO and President Katie Lorenson.
